Closed on all sides by South Africa, but separated from it by the vast Drakensberg and Maluti mountain ranges, the mountain kingdom of Lesotho is small and shaped rounded, situated on a plateau of more than 3.281 feet (1,000 m), with peaks reaching heights of over 10,000 feet (3,000 m).
