Lien holder signed check, the bank will not cash, what can we do?
Our truck was hit and we have filed a claim to repair. We received a check to my husband and the lienholder. The lienholder stated that they would not cash check unless the truck was fixed. We went to get the truck fixed and paid our own way. We showed the owner privilege and signed the check. Our situation is that the bank does not cash the check, does anybody have any insight why this may be? Or what can possibly be done?
Ask the lienholder to give you a letter on company letterhead stating that you are authorized to cash the check. The only valid reason the bank would say they are unsure that the privilege is actually endorsed the check.
