Dogon Mud

It is difficult to make a list of ten African travel wonders list without leaving a host of other great tourist attractions. Here is my list. How many have you seen?

1. Mountain Gorillas of Central Africa

It is an indescribable experience to spend an hour visiting a family of habituated gorillas in the rainforests of central Africa. With more than 98% DNA in common with humans, can perceive and feel his emotions and links family. 4. Victoria Falls

Locals describe him as "the smoke that thunders" in their language home, where columns of thundering water spray can be seen for miles, as the calm waters of the mile-wide Zambezi River plunges over 100 meters in the deep gorge below. 5. The Nile and the temples of Egypt

Eroded over the centuries by wind, rugged mountains, rocky escarpments and sweeping sand dunes detail of a rough terrain. The small oasis towns reveal a battle for survival for many centuries, patches of green highlighting the valuable fresh water resources.

7. The Moroccan cities of Marrakech and Fez

With its labyrinth woven like ancient souks, Marrakesh and Fez, both boast remarkable medinas (walled city areas) which ignite all the senses. Rich in craft stores (tanners, weavers, tailors, jewelers and weavers of carpets), food stalls and tearooms (with its lovely sweet mint tea), the seductive aroma of spices in conflict with the unpleasant odor of the pools of dye. Every night, huge Marrakesh Djemaa el Fna becomes a virtual circus of snake charmers, fortune tellers, jugglers, comedians and magicians spruikers, while enjoying the delicious delights of the variety of fresh food stalls and juice bars.

8. Dogon villages of Mali

The Dogon people live in villages along the simple imposition 120 mile cliff of Bandiagara. His strange mud (adobe) houses are built along the cliff edge providing areas for sleeping and relaxing, common areas for meetings of the people and for the storage of grain. The houses are very cool in the hot arid zone.

9. Leptis Magna

Africa's most important Roman ruin stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea. As an important Roman city in his time, Leptis Magna, includes the ruins of the sports venues, theaters, markets and temples, along with the traditional core of the Roman Forum.

10. Zanzibar

The Spice Islands are a haven, providing an opportunity for a relaxing break from Africa's parks and game travel. This has a number of places of interest with its Arab heritage, the ancient city of stone and tropical palm-fringed sandy beaches. The maze of ancient streets and narrow streets are lined with whitewashed houses with magnificent Carved Wooden doors. Culturally independent the African continent, small mosques, bazaars and bright tiles offer the finest cultural walks between sessions relaxing, sun-baking on the beach.
